First, burn

Second, smell

PET smells different from ordinary plastics when burning, and it will smell very aromatic and comfortable (just burn a bottle to smell it); if PET contains other ingredients, the taste will be pungent. One type of bottle contains SEBS, which cannot be used during recycling.

Third, pull

When the PET is burning, pull the wire a little, look at the length of the wire, and then break the drawn wire. Look at the break point in the middle. Whether the wire is rolled into a small circle.

The last and key point is to distinguish whether PVC is contained in the returned material. Recycled PET containing PVC is almost unusable. Specifically, it can be distinguished by flattening in a sunny place after sampling and observing the color of the sample. Set the oven temperature to 250 ° C, place the sample in the oven for half an hour, and then remove the sample for observation.

If there are many yellow spots on the surface of the sample, the sample contains PVC. If the sample melts quickly in the oven, the sample has a lower melting point (PET melting point: 250-255 ° C).
